Community Proposal Application

Please fill out the form below as completely as possible. The 'Note' boxes to the right of some of the form fields provide suggestions as to the information desired. If you have any questions about the form, please contact us.

We have created a Word document of the application form which you can fill out, then copy and paste into the online application form so that you can retain an electronic copy for your files. Do not send us the word document.

Please remember to:

  • proofread and edit your proposal and make sure that all information boxes are completed.

  • ensure that you provide complete organizational and contact information in each application even if you are submitting more than one proposal

  • keep a copy of your project proposal because you will no longer have access to it once it has been submitted and will need it for reference if we contact you for revisions.

    Proposals are accepted subject to review by the ARX committee to ensure that the organization and project fit the guidelines, mandate, and capacity of SFPIRG.

    ARX does not bear any liability for the outcome of the research project. Projects are conducted in accordance with SFU's policies on Research Ethics, and meets the standards expected in undergraduate (or in certain cases, graduate) coursework. They are not provided with a warranty of any kind. The student, instructor, Simon Fraser University and SFPIRG are not responsible for any direct or indirect loss arising from reliance on the information produced in ARX projects. ARX's sole responsibility is facilitating the connection between community organizations and students.

    Project Plan of Action

    << Note
    SFU semesters begin in September, January, and May, and last for three months. If you indicate 'larger', then you are limiting your pool of researchers to graduate students. Some groups separate their projects into stages and submit one proposal for each stage. Please keep in mind that we accept students until the end of the 6th week of term. If your student is matched late, your project may be limited to two months.
