Sign-up to become an SFPIRG Action Group and receive access to funding, skills training, resources and more. Or, become a supporter of one of our existing Action Groups and help contribute to some great work happening on and off campus. Check out our current Action Groups below...

Open Media

SFU Open Media Openmedia.ca is dedicated to promoting an open and democratic communication system in Canada. Our primary goal is to increase student & public awareness and informed participation in Canadian media, cultural, information, and telecommunication policy formation.

The SFU OpenMedia.ca Action Group is working on variety of initiatives such as holding campus events, educational workshops, high school and university presentations about national media issues and publishing a monthly newsletter.

Ancient Forests Committee

Ancient Forests in BC

The Ancient Forest Committee is working to engage the on-campus community around the importance of protecting BC's endangered old-growth forests.  The AFC coordinates old-growth hikes, letter-writing booths, rallies, and other events aimed at fostering a desire, among the SFU community and beyond, to protect this unique ecosystem.
